In a Violent Nature introduced horror fans to a killer with a fresh hook — and in the sequel, the body count is only getting higher.

Johnny returns in the official trailer for In a Violent Nature 2, coming soon from Independent Film Company and Shudder.

The slasher follow-up finds the masked killer stalking a summer camp, where he collides with a young outcast camper forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends during their annual end-of-season party.

First assistant director Nathaniel Wilson takes over directing duties for the sequel, while original filmmaker Chris Nash returns to pen the script and produce alongside Peter Kuplowsky, Shannon Hanmer, and Michael James Regan.

Ry Barrett reprises his role as Johnny, joined by Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven (Blood Quantum), Laurie Babin (Red Rooms), Fionn Laird (“The Institute”), Donald MacLean Jr. (The Craft: Legacy), and Evan Marsh (Shazam).

“With this sequel, fans can expect an exponential increase of the ol’ ultraviolence with a distinct hook — one that still collides with storied slasher traditions,” Kuplowsky teased.
