Stranded in the Wilderness: First Photos from Sam Raimi’s ‘Send Help’

Entertainment Weekly has unveiled the first images of Rachel McAdams (Doctor Strange) and Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner) as Linda Liddle and Bradley Preston in Sam Raimi’s upcoming survival thriller Send Help.

Directed by horror legend Sam Raimi, the darkly comedic survival tale hits 20th Century Studios and theaters on January 30, 2026.

“I found the two lead characters, Linda and Bradley, to be complex, human, and constantly at odds in conflicting situations,” Raimi told EW. “The pitch was outrageous and original, tracking these two as their power dynamic shifted dramatically. I knew right away I wanted to direct this picture.”

McAdams and O’Brien play co-workers who survive a plane crash on a deserted island. Stranded, they must navigate the wreckage of both the crash and their strained relationship. Survival becomes a battle of wits, wills, and grudges as they fight to make it out alive.

“At its core, it’s an underdog story,” Raimi adds. “It’s about survival, female empowerment, and transformation. Watching a once-powerful boss realize his dependence on someone he underestimated is deeply satisfying. Linda stepping into her own power in this hostile environment is universal — it resonates.”

The film has been described as a cross between Misery and Castaway, with a script by Damian Shannon & Mark Swift (Freddy vs. Jason, Friday the 13th).

Rounding out the cast are Dennis Haysbert (24) and Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians), while Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Beetlejuice) provides the eerie, suspenseful score.

The Send Help trailer will debut in theaters attached to Black Phone 2 this weekend, though it may surface online ahead of the official release.

With Raimi at the helm, a mix of gore, dark comedy, and survival horror awaits — perfect for horror fans craving clever scares and tense island drama.
