While fans continue to wait for the long-anticipated Happy Death Day 3, Christopher Landon is already charting a new course in horror. According to Deadline, Landon has signed on to write and direct the supernatural thriller Final Boarding.

The project comes from Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems and is adapted from a short story by Clarence Hammond. Landon will also incorporate elements from an earlier screenplay draft by Javier Gullón (Enemy). Plot details remain tightly under wraps, leaving horror fans eager for more.

A genre favorite, Landon has a track record of blending scares with dark humor, having directed Happy Death Day, Freaky, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, We Have a Ghost, and last year’s Drop.

He’s also an accomplished writer, with credits including Heart Eyes, Disturbia, and five installments of the Paranormal Activity franchise.

Landon will also reunite with Drop co-writers Chris Roach and Jillian Jacobs on the upcoming thriller Blink of an Eye for Netflix, keeping his momentum firmly in the horror and supernatural space.

With Final Boarding, fans can expect Landon’s signature mix of tension, twists, and darkly comedic scares—though exactly what awaits aboard remains a mystery.
