‘Faces of Death’ Remake Reveals New Artwork; Trailer Drops Tomorrow

Published

Independent Film Company and Shudder have debuted brand-new artwork for “Faces of Death,” building anticipation ahead of the film’s official trailer arriving tomorrow.

The meta horror reimagining of the infamous 1978 faux documentary will slash its way into theaters on April 10, marking IFC’s widest theatrical release to date.

Daniel Goldhaber (Cam, How to Blow Up a Pipeline) directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Isa Mazzei (Cam), reworking the controversial property for the digital age.

What Is the New ‘Faces of Death’ About?

Continuing the original film’s notorious “is it real or not?” premise, the remake centers on a content moderator working for a major video platform. Her routine job takes a disturbing turn when she uncovers footage that appears to be reenactments of murders from Faces of Death.

In an online landscape where nothing can be trusted, she’s forced to determine whether the shocking violence is staged — or happening in real time.

Cast and Production Team

The film stars:

  • Barbie Ferreira (“Euphoria”)
  • Dacre Montgomery (“Stranger Things”)
  • Josie Totah (“Saved by the Bell”)
  • Aaron Holliday (Cocaine Bear)
  • Jermaine Fowler (Sorry to Bother You)
  • Charli XCX

Production comes from Legendary Entertainment, Don Murphy & Susan Montford of Angry Films Entertainment, and Adam Hendricks & Greg Gilreath of Divide/Conquer. Mazzei, Derek Bishé, and Rick Benattar serve as executive producers.

Filmed in 2023, “Faces of Death” is rated R for strong bloody violence and gore, sexual content, nudity, language, and drug use.

Expect the first trailer to arrive tomorrow ahead of the film’s April theatrical release.
