‘Don’t Move’ Directors to Direct ‘Every House Is Haunted’ Produced by Sam Raimi
Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, the directing duo behind Don’t Move, are set to direct Every House Is Haunted, produced by legendary horror filmmaker Sam Raimi, Deadline reports.
Raimi’s production company has teamed up with Starlight, which holds the rights to Ian Rogers’s 2012 short story collection Every House Is Haunted. The film will draw inspiration from the story The House on Ashley Avenue, which follows an insurance investigator trying to debunk claims that a couple’s deaths were caused by a haunted house. His skepticism is tested when a psychic and a series of unexplainable events force him to confront the supernatural firsthand.
Raimi and Zainab Azizi are producing under Raimi Productions, while Roy Lee (IT, Weapons) is producing through Vertigo Entertainment. Vertigo’s Andrew Childs (The Long Walk) will serve as executive producer.
The project was originally set up at Netflix with Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman (Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension) attached as writers, though it’s unclear if they remain involved.
“Ian is a fantastic storyteller of horror,” Raimi said. “He has an ability to create a unique reading experience with great scares and memorable characters. I knew the moment I finished reading Every House Is Haunted that Ian was someone I wanted to work with.”
Originally, The Nun director Corin Hardy was slated to helm the film back in 2021, but he has since moved on to other projects.
Schindler & Netto are also set to direct Nightwatching, an adaptation of Tracy Sierra’s psychological thriller novel starring Mila Kunis, making them one of horror’s most exciting new director duos to watch.
