The action-packed thriller “Hypnotic,” directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Ben Affleck, has made its way to Digital platforms for at-home viewing as of May 30, 2023, following its recent theatrical release.
Departing from his usual playful and rebellious style, Rodriguez delivers a mind-bending experience reminiscent of Christopher Nolan’s work, featuring a serious tone and intricate narrative.
In “Hypnotic,” Austin detective Danny Rourke (Ben Affleck) embarks on a mission to find his missing daughter. However, his investigation into a series of mind-altering bank robberies takes him on a journey that challenges his fundamental beliefs about the world and everyone around him. Assisted by the exceptionally gifted psychic Diana Cruz (Alice Braga), Rourke becomes entangled in a dangerous pursuit, facing off against a deadly figure (William Fichtner) whom he believes holds the key to locating his daughter, only to unravel more than he bargained for.
The film also stars J.D. Pardo, Hala Finley, Dayo Okeniyi, Jeff Fahey, Jackie Earle Haley, and William Fichtner. Rodriguez co-wrote the script with Max Borenstein (known for “Kong: Skull Island”).
