‘Crimes Of The Future’ A New Film By David Cronenberg
Announced as a Cannes Competition Official Selection, David Cronenberg (Scanners, Videodrome, The Dead Zone, The Fly, A History of Violence) is back with a new sci-fi/horror project titled Crimes of the Future, and NEON has debuted the official teaser today.
Crimes of the Future will arrive exclusively in theaters this June, and the teaser (below) gives us our first look at stars Léa Seydoux, Viggo Mortensen, and Kristen Stewart.
Of course, it’s also home to some of that Cronenberg body horror we love so much…
In the film
“As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. With his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), celebrity performance artist, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances.
“Timlin (Kristen Stewart), an investigator from the National Organ Registry, obsessively tracks their movements, which is when a mysterious group is revealed… Their mission – to use Saul’s notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution.”
The film’s cast also includes Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar, Lihi Kornowski, Tanaya Beatty, Nadia Litz, Yorgos Karamichos, and Yorgos Pirpassopoulos.
NEON is on board to release Crimes of the Future in the United States.
