Chris Elliott and Cheri Oteri Join Returning Cast of ‘Scary Movie 6′

Get ready to laugh, cringe, and scream all over again — Chris Elliott and Cheri Oteri are back in the mix for Scary Movie 6. The returning horror-comedy veterans are the latest additions to the upcoming installment, promising more of the franchise’s signature blend of absurdity and gore.

Elliott, best known as the over-the-top Hell House caretaker Hanson in Scary Movie 2, and Oteri, who first terrorized the parody world as Gail Hailstorm in the original film, join a cast packed with comedic and horror talent, including Damon Wayans Jr. (New Girl), Kim Wayans (In Living Color), and Heidi Gardner, according to Deadline.

Character details are still under wraps, leaving fans guessing if Elliott and Oteri will reprise their iconic roles — or take on new, equally ridiculous characters. Elliott’s previous turn as Ezekiel in Scary Movie 4 shows he’s no stranger to jumping into multiple roles in the franchise.

Scary Movie 6 is currently in production with returning legacy cast members Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall, Anna Faris, Lochlyn Munro, Dave Sheridan, and Jon Abrahams. Newcomers Olivia Rose Keegan, Savannah Lee Nassif, Cameron Scott Roberts, Sydney Park, Gregg Wayans, Ruby Snowber, and Benny Zielke round out the ensemble.

Director Michael Tiddes is at the helm, with Rick Alvarez writing and producing alongside the Wayans brothers. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 12, 2026.

The Scary Movie franchise has been parodying horror since the original 2000 release, spoofing hits like Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and The Blair Witch Project. That first film scared up $278 million worldwide, proving horror-comedy could be a box office powerhouse.

While the Wayans Brothers only produced the first two installments, their return for Scary Movie 6 signals a possible nod to the franchise’s roots — and judging by the cast, expect plenty of meta laughs, gore, and outrageous parodies.

Whether Elliott and Oteri will reprise their classic roles or deliver brand-new absurdities, one thing is certain: the sixth installment promises more over-the-top scares and laughs than ever.

Stay tuned… the spoof is far from over.
