The never-ending exploitation of The Amityville Horror collides with full-blown B-movie absurdity in Amityvillenado, a horror comedy that shamelessly fuses haunted-house mythology with Sharknado-style chaos.

Set to arrive in 2026 via ITN Distribution, the film’s newly released trailer leans hard into its outrageous premise. After a catastrophic storm obliterates the infamous DeFeo house, a paranormal force merges with a violent tornado, creating a supernatural cyclone that feeds on human souls while tearing through the town of Amityville.

Stopping the otherworldly disaster falls to an unlikely crew: two rebellious punk rockers, a fearless meteorologist, and a determined cop who must uncover the truth behind the soul-sucking storm before the town is wiped off the map. Expect camp, chaos, and plenty of tongue-in-cheek nods to Amityville’s long, legally unprotected legacy.

Amityvillenado is co-written and co-directed by Paul Tucker, host of a podcast devoted entirely to the sprawling Amityville franchise, alongside Jeff Van Gerwen. The cast includes Trey Ball, Jib Haddan, Clay Aleman, Elizabeth McCoy, and Will Hoffpauir.

While unofficial Amityville entries continue to flood the indie scene, the property is also headed back to the mainstream. Amazon MGM Studios is currently developing a new Amityville Horror reimagining from Lights Out director David F. Sandberg, with Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing (The Conjuring: Last Rites) attached to write.
