A grizzled recluse’s grip on reality begins to crumble in the chilling new trailer for Herman, a psychological horror-thriller hitting VOD on December 2 via Scatena & Rosner Films.

Set deep in a remote mountain cabin, the film follows an isolated survivalist who begins receiving late-night visits from something—or someone—far from human. Tormented by a dark presence and ready to give up, a sudden knock at the door becomes the only thing keeping him tethered to life.

But as a brutal winter storm traps him inside and strange visitors keep arriving, Herman finds himself battling an encroaching darkness that wants to swallow him whole.

The indie feature marks the debut of writer-director Andrew Vogel.
Colin Ward (Mother’s Boys) leads the cast as Herman, joined by Lawson Greyson (V/H/S/Halloween), Soni Theresa Montgomery, and Alex James.

“This film has been an incredible journey,” Vogel shared. “I’m honored to have collaborated with so many talented and skilled artists, and I’m thrilled Herman has found its home with S&R Films.”

S&R Films Managing Director Gato Scatena added, “Herman is a bold and provocative debut. Andrew Vogel’s vision is unnerving and deeply human, and we’re proud to bring it to audiences across North America.”

The film is produced by Suzann Toni Petrongolo & Andrew Vogel of VP Independent and Heliya Alam of LBM Pictures.
