Alexander Skarsgård to Star in Brutal Gothic Horror ‘The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands’
Alexander Skarsgård (The Northman, True Blood) is set to lead the chilling new Gothic horror film The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands, Deadline reports.
Currently filming in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the feature is directed by Nathalie Álvarez Mesén (Clara Sola) from a script she co-wrote with Sjón (The Northman, Lamb).
Set in the 1880s Pacific Northwest, Skarsgård plays a British widower who hires a Native American governess—educated in a Christian mission school—to teach his two daughters. As she prepares the eldest for an arranged marriage, a dark, ancient force begins to stir within the girl, threatening everything she’s been taught and upending the family’s fragile order.
The cast also includes Darla Contois (Little Bird), Bronte Carmichael (Andor), Lily LaTorre (Run Rabbit Run), Forrest Goodluck (How to Blow Up a Pipeline), and Pernilla August (Star Wars: Episode I-II).
“I feel incredibly lucky to work with a cast who dive into their roles with such generosity, playfulness, and openness,” says Mesén. “Darla embodies Isabel with visceral emotional depth, and Alexander portrays the father with a truth and volatility that ground the story. I can’t wait for the film to reach audiences!”
Sjón, who collaborated on the script, adds, “As someone who’s worked with myth and folk stories in novels, songs, and screenplays, I was immediately fascinated by Nathalie’s ability to bring to the screen the shifting borders between inner and outer reality. I added some dark Northern lyricism to her warm Latin American poetry.”
The film is produced by Nima Yousefi (The Apprentice) alongside Hobab (Sweden), Resolve Media (US), Quiddity Films (UK), Need Productions (Belgium), and Still Vivid (Iceland).
The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands is scheduled for release in Sweden by TriArt in May 2026, with international distribution news forthcoming.
