‘4 X 4: The Event’ Delivers a Deadly Mix of Saw and Battle Royale

Fresh off the SXSW buzz for his existential nightmare It Ends (still awaiting release), director Alex Ullom is already diving into his next descent into chaos: 4 X 4: The Event.

According to Deadline, Spooky Pictures and Image Nation have boarded the project, which is being described as a vicious collision of Battle Royale, Saw, and Climax—a blend that promises carnage, psychological collapse, and dance-floor delirium all in one.

Plot details remain locked down for now, but the team behind it is stacked with genre heavy-hitters:

  • Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Pet Sematary)
  • Roy Lee (Weapons, IT, The Ring)
  • Adam Hendricks & Greg Gilreath of Divide/Conquer (Black Phone 2, M3GAN)
  • Executive produced by Image Nation CEO Ben Ross

With pedigree like that, expect 4 X 4: The Event to swing hard into survival horror territory.

Stay tuned for updates as more blood-soaked details emerge. And keep an eye on Ullom’s It Ends, still waiting in the shadows without a release date—but coming soon.
