“The Toxic Avenger” Coming to Vinyl By Mutant This November

With The Toxic Avenger in theaters now, its soundtrack is heading to vinyl from Mutant. Due out in November, it costs $35.

It features score selections from composers Brooke Blair & Will Blair (Green Room, Rebel Ridge) alongside tracks from Motörhead, The Giraffes, and East Hundred as well as in-movie acts The Killer Nutz and The Whoopsie Dews.

The album is pressed on 150-gram green and black vinyl with glow-in-the-dark splatter, limited to 500. Enjoy the Ride Records carries an exclusive color-in-color variant with splatter, limited to 250. A retail edition on neon green vinyl will also be available.

The record is housed inside a silver mirrorboard sleeve with glow-in-the-dark elements alongside liner notes by writer-director (and elder brother to the composers) Macon Blair.

“The original Toxie soundtrack was such a bonkers mash-up of styles,” says Will Blair. “Dancey-pop songs would be followed by punk rock, then go immediately into big orchestral pieces, followed by weird electro score — and it not only worked, it became part of the Troma experience. We trusted it would work with Macon’s version of Toxie, and we’re grateful he cut us loose to throw everything we had at it.”

In the fresh take on the 1984 cult classic, a downtrodden janitor is exposed to a catastrophic toxic accident, transforming him into a mutant vigilante. Toxie must take on ruthless corporate overlords and corrupt forces who threaten his son, his friends, and his community.

Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Jacob Tremblay (Doctor Sleep), Taylour Paige (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F), Julia Davis (Phantom Thread), Jonny Coyne (11.22.63), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), and Kevin Bacon (Friday the 13th) star.
